WANA (Nov 03) – In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, highlighted November 3, Iran’s National Day of Fighting Against Global Arrogance, as a reminder of the Iranian people’s heroic efforts to live freely and with dignity, without foreign interference or domination.

“Our people cannot forget the long and dark history of U.S. interference in Iran,” Baghaei stated, referencing the 1953 U.S.-UK-backed coup that toppled Iran’s first democratically elected government and reinstalled monarchical rule.

He also pointed to the extensive support given by the U.S. to Saddam Hussein’s regime during the eight-year Iran-Iraq War.

Baghaei added that U.S. policies against Iran, including severe sanctions and support for Israel’s actions in the region, have continued to harm the Iranian people.

Despite these pressures, he said, Iran has learned that a dignified life and protection of national sovereignty require resilience and self-reliance on national capacities and capabilities.
